Mr Khalil Refai is Yemeni-American activist in Detroit Metropolitan Area. He was born in Yemen and raised Michigan. Mr. Refai graduated from School Craft College Police Academy. He still pursuing a major in Criminal Justice. He is Officer/Chaplain for Hamtramck Police Department and a Chaplain for Wayne County Sheriff in the State of Michigan. He is a youth coordinators and advisors for the Muslim community in the Hamtramck – Detroit area. He also served as school board for Al-Iklas Training Academy.
Khalil is one of the founders of Yemeni American Leadership Association, an organization that provides ESL courses and programs to the new immigrants. Khalil was exposed to non-profit work at a young age by his parents who were entrepreneurs in the humanity and no-profit work. He is part of a family that has a legacy that has severed the community more than 15 years helping in sport activities, educational-outreach programs, and drug prevention programs. Khalil is an asset to the team and serves as Vice-President of HRD.
